Caroline-
You are an absolute JOY! And, TODAY you are 4 months old! I
can’t believe you have only
You have never been upset about much of anything, besides a
lack of bottle when you think you need one. You were very opinionated about
which bottle you wanted, which is different from the dozens we already have,
but you are just letting us know that you are going to stand your ground when
you really feel like you need to. An
opinionated girl, I wonder where that came from? HA!
You are a night owl. You ALWAYS have been. For your first 3
months, you didn’t go to bed before midnight. You were not upset, but you were
wide awake, and somebody had to stay up with you. It was usually me (mom)
because I, too, am a bit of a night owl. I also blame myself for your
‘schedule’ because we had a few things going on (Dad in California, me selling
our house, packing our house, and buying a new house---usually up between
8pm-12am working on) that taught you to be awake from 8pm-12am kicking away in
my belly. Luckily, your first trip to Arizona, and hours in the warm southwest
air, taught you to go to bed by 9-10pm. WOOHOO!! You even slept from 10pm-7:00am for most of
our nights in Arizona, and when we came home.
Greeting you at home were your two big brothers. One of
which was SO UNBELIEVBALY excited to meet you and wanted to be able to feed you
one of your first bottles, and he did and excellent job! Spoiler alert- it was
Harrison. You and Harrison have had a bond since you came home. I believe this bond is partially because he is
6 ½, and understands better what is going on. Silas, well, he doesn’t dislike
you. He does claim you as “his baby” and he has called you cute on numerous
occasions. Don’t get me wrong, he isn’t unkind to you, but you two simply
coexist at this time. However, when either of your brothers comes into your
view you grin like you grin for NOBODY ELSE!! Well, almost nobody else. You
LOVE your daddy something fierce, too.
You have seamlessly woven into our little crazy life. You
sleep better with noise and in the middle of chaos. You have been allowed (and
I say allowed because your brothers were kicked out so much sooner) to sleep in
the crib in our room until now, and I don’t see us kicking you out anytime
soon, as you sleep better when you know someone is near. Plus, as you are
almost certainly our last baby, we are soaking up all the time we can get with
you, and all the phases you are FLYING though.
Our SWEET Caroline, we are so glad God chose us to be your
parents,
Love, Mom (and Dad, Harrison and Silas, too)
