Harrison- Week 27- Happy Thanksgiving!

Could not stay still for photos this week!!

Harrison celebrated his first Thanksgiving this week!!
Unfortunately, the week began with Bryan first getting the stomach flu, then Erika and I joining in! So, I was home, again, one day this week getting in some recovery time (which made for a 5-hour work week). All I can hope is that Harry will not come down with this illness...so far, so good.

Later in the week, we spent time working on getting ready for various holidays! I met Jill at a consignment sale on Wednesday night, where I actually did most of our Christmas shopping for Harrison. I found a few of the toys I was planning on getting him for a great deal! I also figured out what to get most everyone else on our list during the day on Wednesday, so I would be ready for day after Thanksgiving shopping!

We spent Thanksgiving afternoon with Bryan's family at his parents house. His aunt, uncle and cousins (Steve, Elizabeth, Josh, Chris and Stephanie) were there, along with Kevin, Erika and Jeremiah. It was nice to visit with relatives that we do not see very often, but we had to cut our visit short for travel time to my parents. That evening, we spent with my mom and dad, and uncle Eric. Harrison went to bed by 7:30 (which is actually late for him) and Bryan went home to sleep, since he had to work the next day. Harrison and I stayed to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving...but that is all in the next post!

As for Harry, this week we retired his bouncy seat. He only has one travel swing that he has been unable to get himself tipped over in (thank goodness!). He has been playing a lot with his toy basket- taking everything out to play with one toy at a time, while sitting up, of course! We have also noticed how much more Harry is TALKING this week! His newest sound is Da- over and over again. Sometimes I think he likes to say it because then his bottom teeth his his gums up on top, where I think his next teeth are poised to come in!

Toys on the floor.

He watched the Packers with dad from the comfort of the laundry basket (notice the onzie once the bib came off).

Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa Gregory's house. Kevin, Erika, Jeremiah, aunt Lizzie and uncle Steve came with their family, too.

The cute hat is from Julie.

Then, we went to spend Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa Blom, and uncle Eric. I need to get more pictures from Grandma!

Harrison- Week 26

This week Harrison has started to sit-up a lot! We have to put him into a sitting position, but he can stay in that position for 30 minutes, or more! He seems to enjoy his new view of the world, and access to new an interesting toys from a sitting position.

Harrison has officially outgrown all of his 6 month clothing, and I fear we will quickly blip over any 9 month clothes that he has! My favorites for him (and any of you that have chunka-lunka babies) are Gymboree and Baby Gap, and occasionally Carter's. Luckily, I have been able to shop consignment sales/shops and clearance racks, as those are some of the more spendy brands...go figure!

This week, Harry had his first cold and fever. We are not sure if he felt sick because of his impending cold, or his shots, or a combination of the two. Either way, I stayed home with him one day this week for a little Mommy TLC. He bounced back quickly, but has not been up to eating like before his cold.

Playing with Lotty Bug.

FIRST SNOW (On Mommies birthday)!

Watching mom make my food- I just woke up from a nap I started in the car...

I made carrots, sweet potato, green beans and peas.

Testing out the baby food that mom made...YUM!

Still LOVES his office.

NEW TOY!! His own cell phone at age 6 months.

Harrison- 6 Month Letter (25 weeks)

Harrison-

Today you are six months old!!!

I am amazed at the little person you are becoming. You are calm and relaxed most of the time. But, this month you have truly perfected your smile, and decided to use it a lot more! When we come into your room in the morning, you are usually smiling and almost reaching for us to come and get you! You love to smile at your dog, Rosie Mae, too. I think you finally recognize her, because every time she walks into the room, you are smiling from ear to ear. You are starting to get really excited about things, and you almost pant because you just can't laugh fast enough, especially in the morning. You are persistent when you want something, and have started to dislike when I have to take something from you, but you can usually be distracted by something else to do.

In the past six months you have had so many milestones. Some of the more memorable were: your first, and second tooth, rolling over, sleeping 8 hours (though you have only done this about 6 times), eating solid foods, and more recently, sitting up! There are SO many more, but I wrote about most of them every week. I really don't know where the time went? I have heard that it only keeps going faster, which makes me sad. I have already had to pack up your newborn (o.k, that was only 3 outfits), 3 month and 6 month clothes. It is always bittersweet, because I know you will never wear those outfits again. On that note, at your 6 month appointment you were 21 lbs. 2 oz. WOW!!! No wonder you don't fit in any of your little clothes anymore!

More than anything right now you LOVE to put anything, and everything, in your mouth (which is where the having to take things from you comes in). You also LOVE to eat your solid foods. There are very few foods that you dislike, which makes our job as your chef's a lot easier! You are also getting really good at moving a few inches, and even feet, to get what you want to chew on. Both dad and I hope that crawling is still a couple months away, but you are finding your own way to scoot right now.

You have started to get a little nervous when we leave you with someone you do not know, even if it is only to go to the next room. At your doctors appointment this week, you were all smiles when I was right by your side, but when I went to get something from your diaper bag, you were not happy that it was just you and the doctor. Though it feels wonderful to be the one who can make your world right again, I hope that you go through this 'phase' quickly.

We are so excited to see what your next 6 months brings! I am sure you will continue to fill our lives with JOY!

Love, Mom (and Dad, too)

Harrison- Week 24

There were too any to choose from this week, again!!

- Can I please take some pictures -

This week the weather got chilly! So, we started to bundle Harrison, which is both adorable and a pain in the rear! I am not sure how it happened (O.K., maybe I know, but I am in denial), but Harry has 6 hat and mitten sets that fit him THIS YEAR!! He almost has one for every day of the week!!! Another plus this week... with the change in weather, Bryan made space in the garage for my car, so scraping ice is not another event to add on to our already hectic mornings!!

Harrison has been talking a lot!! He has been using his 'm' and 'b' sounds...especially together when you are feeding him, which results in spitting (super funny, and messy). It is even more funny when I try to negotiate with a 5 month old. Sounds something like this...
Mommy: "Harry, please stop spitting on Mommy"
Harrison: "bbmmmbbb" (aka- I'm going to spit this squash on you and everywhere else).
I now see the reasoning behind purchasing an office chair mat for under your high chair!!!

We also celebrated Harrison's first Halloween, but there were so many pictures I did a separate post on just Halloween!!

Busy in the office.

Bath Time!!

Spending some time on the floor in his room with his buddy- the giraffe.

Rosie Mae. Harrison has been REALLY interested in Rosie. He smiles at her every time he can see her in the room.

Pumpkins!!!!!
