Silas- Week 51

February 18th- 25th: Yes, this picture is from a few weeks ago, but I was slacking :)

The only new information this week- TUBES, it is. Silas has some mild hearing loss, and his ear drums are not moving as they should. So, tubes are recommended to help with the ears draining and staying equalized. With an official 6 ear infections in 6 months, we are on board. Amazingly, they will be done 5 days from our consult, a few days after his first birthday.

Silas is still OBSESSED with the song (and movements for) Wheels on the Bus. I am hoping to get that on video, or at least in photos, soon. He can also be found turning on any toy with music and dancing to the music.

Harrison isn't always excited to share his toys, and Silas isn't always watching where he steps. What do you get from that combination? This series of photos, of course.

Silas- Week 50

February 11th- 17th: It happened- HE IS WALKING!! See video below :)

You know what else happened? He has ANOTHER EAR INFECTION!! It is time to look into tubes.
Luckily we got an appointment next week with a fantastic ENT at Children's, and we will hopefully get more answers (and maybe even more sleep outside of the yellow chair).

On a positive note, he is such a great eater. His favorite place to eat is Chipotle (just like big brother)! He will still eat from the "food pouches" and will do some puffs, etc, but he would prefer people food. His top 5 people foods right now are:
- Blueberries (he squeals when you get the box out).
- Yogurt
- PBJ (yes, we have already given him peanut butter. He actually picked up a peanut scrap off the floor and ate it. When he survived, we figured it was alright to try)
- Green Beans
- Pasta

We are prepping for Silas to turn 1 in a few weeks!!! How did that happen?!?!

Valentine's day dinner and little gift.

One day per week, Silas is home alone with mom. He LOVES having the entire play room to himself.

Silas- Week 49

February 4th- 10th: We have always known Silas was into music. He has always been drawn to musical toys or songs in the car. Perhaps it has something to do with mommy singing so much while I was pregnant with him.  This week, he started adding hand movements (reliably) to his favorite song- The Wheels on the Bus. He starting doing the "wheels" motion. He gets so excited about it that he grins from ear-to-ear, squealing with joy, and does it so fast that he ends up rolling his hands up under his chin :)

He is officially standing on his own, and attempting to take steps, which is a big change from last week. He is more mobile, even with this small change in his stance. I think (and fear) that it is just a matter of time before he is off and running. Sadly, it is also only a matter of time before mom and dad end each night more exhausted from chasing him around.

Silas- Week 48

January 28th- February 3rd: Silas, Silas, Silas...
He is such a JOY! I have nothing else to report this week. The medicine is working, we are getting more sleep, he is a happy camper, and we are, too.

The progression of the 48 week photo. He is getting more uninterested in what I am doing, and much more interested in messing with anything in the room that he can get his hands on. He also gets really excited when I take out his Eeyore!
