When you have a 5-year old and an almost 2-year old, Christmas is definitely the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! The excitement, over the smallest things, is contagious. Harrison has been focused on what "traditions" our family has at Christmas time. This year, we started a bible-verse Advent Calendar, made gingerbread shacks, and went to the downtown Macy's display to visit Santa. We are trying to make sure that the TRUE reason for celebrating Christmas remains the biggest part of our Christmas tradition~ the birth of Baby Jesus.
A few days before Christmas, we celebrated at Grandma and Grandpa B's house.
Harrison spent about 2 hours creating the drawing for his "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" movie for Grandpa.
Great-Grandma Pat made a Tawny Scrawny Lion quilt. Such a treasured possession.
We left Grandma and Grandpa B's house in time to make it to Harrison's Christmas Program at church. He was the "star" for playing with his zipper and sitting down between songs. It is a learning experience :)
Our Advent Calendar. My friend, Heidi, have me this simple idea. We broke up the story of Christmas from the bible and placed verses in each day envelope with stickers for the boys to put on the tree.
We opened presents at our house, just the 4 of us, on Christmas Eve. We continue the tradition of 1 thing you want, 1 thing you need, 1 thing you wear, 1 thing you read.
A Fire Station, complete with people, ad fire truck (wee-o, wee-o) and an ambulance.
Mixels for our Lego crazy guy!
On December 25th, we celebrated Christmas with Bryan's family at Grandma and Grandpa G's. Harrison always looks forward to seeing all of his cousins. Silas, still gets a little overwhelmed :) There are 8 adults and 9 kids, when all are there.
