Harrison- Week 29

We started the week by joining aunt Erin Jane for her Christmas tree decorating tradition on Friday evening! Harrison had a very good time visiting he house :) Harrison spent some time solo with uncle Eric on Saturday, and Grandma and Grandpa Blom on Saturday night. The rest of our week went fast, but it was somewhat uneventful, which is always good. We didn't have any plans during the week for after work. I am not sure how long it has been since we've been able to just relax at home for a few nights in a row!

The only activities of the week centered around getting ready for Harrison's first Christmas! We decorated our tree(s) right after Thanksgiving, but now there are gifts under them! I finished all of the Christmas shopping on Amazon on Monday, and the boxes came Wednesday. Harry helped by playing with the boxes while I unpacked them. Now that I have to bring Harrison with me shopping (and he doesn't always enjoy staying in his carseat),going to every store to get the deals is just not appealing. We also received his stocking in the mail with all the Amazon boxes...it makes his first Christmas more "official". I am excited to start traditions with him that we continue for many years to come.

On a not so exciting note, Harrison has started a new sleeping "tradition" of his own that we are not very fond of! He has started to REALLY move in his crib, and he gets himself stuck head-first in the corner of his crib about every 2 or 3 hours at night. He can't figure out how to move from this position, so Bryan or I have to get him out of the corner, calm him down, sometimes feed him (because after all now that he is up he is hungry) and return to bed. We are hoping this passes fast...right now we are on week two. I am not sure if he will sleep through the night before age one.

Harrison- Week 28

This week our "little" boy is 28 weeks old!!

The week started with some Black Friday shopping with Grandma and Grandpa Blom. Since he was up a lot the night before (being at a new place to sleep), we did not leave super early. However, we got some great deals at mom's favorite store- Gymboree!
On Saturday Bryan and I went to the Gopher-Iowa football game while Grandma and Grandpa Blom watched Harrison. Sadly, Grandma came down with the stomach flu...we are now wondering if the few times Harrison had huge spit ups were actually him throwing up, and if he actually started all of this? O well, it is much easier to get over a baby getting you sick :)

It was GREAT to have all the time off over Thanksgiving break with Harrison. We just got into a groove, when we had to go back to work. I am now looking forward to Winter break from school!

As for milestones this week, Harry has been trying to pull himself up on things, especially on his crib when playing on the floor in his room. However, the biggest milestone this week is his newest sound! He has learned to neigh like a horse! He sometimes just blows air, but when he makes the sound he LOVES it! And, it is adorable!

Sitting in his bath tub, like a big boy.

Getting a massage from mom.

Harrison- Week 27- Happy Thanksgiving!

Could not stay still for photos this week!!

Harrison celebrated his first Thanksgiving this week!!
Unfortunately, the week began with Bryan first getting the stomach flu, then Erika and I joining in! So, I was home, again, one day this week getting in some recovery time (which made for a 5-hour work week). All I can hope is that Harry will not come down with this illness...so far, so good.

Later in the week, we spent time working on getting ready for various holidays! I met Jill at a consignment sale on Wednesday night, where I actually did most of our Christmas shopping for Harrison. I found a few of the toys I was planning on getting him for a great deal! I also figured out what to get most everyone else on our list during the day on Wednesday, so I would be ready for day after Thanksgiving shopping!

We spent Thanksgiving afternoon with Bryan's family at his parents house. His aunt, uncle and cousins (Steve, Elizabeth, Josh, Chris and Stephanie) were there, along with Kevin, Erika and Jeremiah. It was nice to visit with relatives that we do not see very often, but we had to cut our visit short for travel time to my parents. That evening, we spent with my mom and dad, and uncle Eric. Harrison went to bed by 7:30 (which is actually late for him) and Bryan went home to sleep, since he had to work the next day. Harrison and I stayed to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving...but that is all in the next post!

As for Harry, this week we retired his bouncy seat. He only has one travel swing that he has been unable to get himself tipped over in (thank goodness!). He has been playing a lot with his toy basket- taking everything out to play with one toy at a time, while sitting up, of course! We have also noticed how much more Harry is TALKING this week! His newest sound is Da- over and over again. Sometimes I think he likes to say it because then his bottom teeth his his gums up on top, where I think his next teeth are poised to come in!

Toys on the floor.

He watched the Packers with dad from the comfort of the laundry basket (notice the onzie once the bib came off).

Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa Gregory's house. Kevin, Erika, Jeremiah, aunt Lizzie and uncle Steve came with their family, too.

The cute hat is from Julie.

Then, we went to spend Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa Blom, and uncle Eric. I need to get more pictures from Grandma!
